So how does mediumship work exactly?
Just like we all have our own unique personality on the other side, each Spirit communicates in their own unique way as well, right down to phrases, images and signs. Their communication with us usually gets stronger each time they use different methods to interact. If it’s the first time they have come through with a medium, their messages may be short and simple, or vague, weaker images, without the added emotion or smell or sound that accompanies a memory.
Remember, it takes a huge amount of energy for a spirit to lower their vibrational frequency to be able to communicate with us, and at the same time, I have to raise my vibration to essentially meet in the middle in order to receive those messages, in the form of energy. And that energy could take on different forms for different mediums, as pictures, words or sentences, emotions, taste or smells, depending on the medium’s Clair abilities, and also depending on how spirit communicates the easiest.
Because of these many variables, each experience of connecting with spirit varies. For me, it’s kind of like playing charades with someone you’ve never met before and trying to get used to their energy, describe their personality, interpret their style, decipher recognizable catchphrases and even their unique sense of humour. I draw on all my different psychic abilities and piece together the messages using all these abilities combined (clairvoyant, clairaudient, clairsentient, claircognizant, clairalience).
They sometimes use specific colors, catchphrases, items, or memories to convey their identity, or even wear specific clothes or show me symbols, items or scenes to convey their hobbies or interests. Another thing - most people who are seeking connection with a past loved one are looking for validation - we want proof, right? And so I always ask my guides to really “bring it”, for something evidential to be presented to me. I feel like it’s the most integral element to eliminate doubts and to bring a sense of peace, reassurance and comfort to us here. I’ve been shown everything from nicknames, phrases in different languages, to specific foods, vehicle models, street signs and pets. And while sometimes I feel silly saying it because none of these things are relevant to ME, I have learned to TRUST my guides, and to just say it, just describe exactly what it is I’m being shown, because even though what I see might not make any sense to ME, it’s usually the telltale AHA moment for you.
The Spirit’s personality, their vibe, is the energy I feel instantaneously, and the most easily, but it’s also the most challenging part of it - to put someone’s entire essence into words. (Laidback, high strung, busy, chattery, quiet, impatient, soothing, excitable, calming, wise, old soul, protective, funny, unsure, boisterous, etc) Our vocabulary is so very limited, seriously!
So that’s a quick overview of how it works - they’re exactly the same on the other side as they were here to you, and usually they don’t have any major or pressing messages, rather they simply want you to know that they are at peace and are exactly where they are supposed to be. It’s a beautiful thing and I feel extremely blessed every time I connect.
